Mr. Bill Farrington
He qualified in London at St Mary's Hospital Medical School in 1992 and worked in the UK, Australia and South Africa as a Junior Doctor in varying surgical specialities. He then completed his specialist Orthopaedic training in the South West of England.
He came to New Zealand in 2003 to pursue his interest in joint replacement surgery as a Fellow, and then as a Consultant. At this time he also developed an interest in computer navigation surgery.
In 2006, he spent a further year in Australia gaining more experience in this field. He returned to Auckland in 2007 to take up a specialist hip and knee practice. He currently works in both public and private practice in the Waitemata region.
His practice is specialised to hip and knee surgery, with an emphasis on accurate implant positioning and bone and joint preservation.
He also participates in the cover of acute trauma and orthopaedics on the on-call rota at North Shore Hospital and is actively involved with teaching, audit and research. He has published many journal articles, papers and book chapters over the years. And has been part of the clinical and research teams that have won awards in the States and the NZ Annual Golden Hip Award for the last 4 years.
